When I think of a swamp, movies like 'Swamp Thing' come to mind. There is nothing beautiful about Swamp Thing, but when it comes to the Cyprus swamps in Texas and Louisiana, there is plenty of beauty around. The Cyprus trees covered with Spanish moss, especially during the fall with all the colors are something to be seen. I found that the best way to see it is from a kayak. I was a bit nervous at first, carrying camera gear on a kayak, but it turned out just fine. Each day we would be very grateful we had not turned the kayak over and dumped the gear. I hope the picture do any justice and you might have a glimpse of what we found to be so beautiful.
